Senators,Your vote against an amendment to the Immigration Bill 1348, to make English America's official language is astounding.
On D-Day no less when we honor those that sacrificed in order to secure the bedrock character and principles of America . I can only surmise your vote reflects a loyalty to illegal aliens.
I don't much care where you come from, what your religion is, whether you're black, white or some other color, male or female, democrat, republican or independent, but I do care when you're a United States Senator, representing citizens of America and vote against English as the official language of the United States
Your vote reflects betrayal, political surrender, violates your pledge of allegiance, dishonors historical principle, rejects patriotism, borders on traitorous action and, in my opinion, makes you unfit to serve as a United States Senator... impeachment, recall, or other appropriate action is warranted.
Worse, 4 of you voting against English as America 's official language are presidential candidates: Senator Biden, Senator Clinton, Senator Dodd, and Senator Obama.
Those 4 Senators vying to lead America but won't or don't have the courage to cast a vote in favor of English as America's official language when 91% of American citizens want English officially designated as our language.
This is the second time in the last several months this list of Senators have disgraced themselves as political hacks... unworthy as Senators and certainly unqualifed to serve as President of the United States.
If America is as angry as I am, you will realize a back-lash so stunning it will literally rock you out of your panties... and preferably, totally out of the United States Senate.
The entire immigration bill is a farce... your action only confirms this really isn't about America ; it's about self-serving politics... despicable at best.

Remember...

Please Remember...
It's the Veteran, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.
It's the Veteran, not the reporter who has given us freedom of the press.
It's the Veteran, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It's the Veteran, not the attorney, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It's the Veteran, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.
It's the Veteran who salutes the flag.
It's the Veteran who serves under the flag.
It's the Veteran, who understands the personal cost of the Pledge of Allegiance.
As we celebrate Veteran's Day, let us all remember the sacrifices they have made for us, and honor those who are serving today to protect the freedoms we enjoy today.

Thanks to La Mesa RV in Tucson
We finally got our RV back home as you can tell from the previous post, and called La Mesa RV in Tucson on Thursday, November 1, 2007. Even though we had not purchased our RV from them, they scheduled us for repairs on November 2, 2007. What a pleasure to deal with an organization that addressed our concerns with such professionalism and attention to the customer. Joseph was our Service advisor. He and the service technician, Ed, had all the repairs we had requested completed in a matter of hours.
As I mentioned when I started this Motorhome Saga, it's not just the manufacturer you need to do research on, but the purchasing dealership as well. I will add to that, do your research on the Service facility too.
We would highly recommend La Mesa RV in Tucson, Arizona as one of the best we have dealt with! Thank you La Mesa of Tucson!! You have restored our confidence in Service. We wish we had dealt with you on the purchase end too. We live and we learn.
What we have learned is to not give up on service just because you have a bad experience with one service location. Keep searching and you will find that there are people out there that are interested in excellence and professionalism. When you find them... hang onto them and recommend them to your friends and associates!
We are once again happy RV'ers looking forward to "Roughing it Smoothly" in our Phaeton!

2008 Phaeton is home again!
Well we finally picked up our Motorhome from the dealership's repair facility. Yes, there are still some things that just aren't right about it, that they didn't fix, but they are things we choose to fix ourselves. What we cannot fix, we will find another service facility to take it to.
This is one puppy that is not going to see the inside of that dealerships service department again.
I have posted some photos of it on Flickr if you're interested in viewing it in all its glory!
Yes, that is a joke folks!... only God has Glory!

Will post photos of our shake down trip as soon as we're able to take it! Till then... I'm off to do some research on where we can go!!

Motorhome Saga
Let me start out by saying that we have owned four different motorhomes manufactured by three different manufacturers. My first recommendation is that one not start out with a high line motorhome because they really spoil you for anything other than a high line. You look at other motorhomes and see every flaw with a hyper critical eye. It is very difficult to lower your expectations after owning a high line motorhome.
Our first and second motorhomes were Vogues which was has since been bought out by Featherlite and Vogue is unfortunately no longer in production. They were both absolutely beautiful and a joy to own.
Our third motorhome was a Dynasty which was bought slightly used. We liked that one also, but ended up redoing the interior as we learned after owning it for awhile that the previous owners had been full timers and the wear and tear on the RV showed.
Our fourth motorhome was a Country Coach Intrigue which was the love of our life. It was beautiful and well laid out and performed with very few problems.
With age comes a lot of things, and one of them is that as one gets older, it becomes more and more difficult to maneuver a 40' RV.
We made a difficult decision to look for something a little bit shorter and a lot more maneuverable.
We spent six months looking online at different manufacturers, different floor plans, and different dealerships. We looked at new and pre-owned vehicles. We decided we wanted something that someone else had not owned, which meant narrowing down the new field to new motorhomes.
We looked at several options in a new motorhome with hyper critical eyes and decided we needed to lower our expectations or shell out mega bucks. This should have been a no brainer, but it was agonizing for both of us as we had become really spoiled in our expectations of excellence in manufacturing.
Finally, after reading a lot of complaints online from people who bought new motorhomes from different manufacturers and finding nothing bad about the Tiffin company and only good reviews about them, we decided to purchase a 2008 Phaeton. Going with Tiffin was not our mistake. Our mistake was in not checking out the dealership before purchasing the Phaeton.
We did a pre-inspection of the motorhome and had 6 things that needed minor repairs done before we took delivery.
We picked up our "Baby" on October 3rd even though only three of the requested repairs were completed. The dealership wanted to close out their fiscal month and assured us that we could bring it back for the additional repairs that had been requested. On October 8th, we took it back to the dealership and it has been there ever since. Now you would think that them being a dealership that they would know what to do and do it in a timely manner, but Noooooooooooooooo that would be too simple and make too much sense.
We have title to a motorhome that has been at the dealership longer than it has been in our possession and we still have no firm date when they are going to be finished with it.
Am I ticked? You bet I am! Hindsight is always a beautiful science.
Had we known it was going to take this long to get the repairs done, we would not have taken possession of it and given them our Country Coach until the repairs were completed. This was stuff that needed to be done whether we purchased it or someone else did.
My advise to anyone considering purchasing an RV is to check out the manufacturer of course. But more importantly..... check out the dealership! They are the ones you are going to have the long term relationship (or not) with over the life of ownership of your RV.
I have never seen so much incompetence and lack of communication from any business.
We have to keep calling them to find out what is going on. They have lied to us and nothing ticks me off more than that.
If someone doesn't know something, I would rather have them tell me "I don't know, but I will find out for you as soon as possible" than to lie to me and tell me they are doing something that they aren't doing.
They said they contacted Tiffin by email on October 3rd and hadn't heard back from them.
I emailed Tiffin about the issue in question and had a response the very next day. Now being a dealership you would think they could pick up the phone and call for the information they needed.... but again ... Nooooooooooooooooo that would make too much sense!!
Hopefully one day we will actually have our Phaeton available to us to use.
For it being a midline RV (not the most expensive but not the cheapest) it is beautiful in it's appearance, and it did handle nicely on our trip home and back up to the dealership. I think we are going to enjoy owning it IF we ever get it back in our possession again.
If that happens, I will post photos of it and let ya'll know how we really like it!
Well, I can post a photo of it here that I took while I was cleaning it. That's another story... it should have been spotless when we took possession of it, but it wasn't. I had to clean it top to bottom... there was grease on the tiled floor grout which had to be removed with a toothbrush....I could go on and on, but I won't.. .suffice to say, the dealership did a lousy job of detailing it. But such as it is, here it is.. .
Will be back with continuing stuph if we ever get to take a trip in this! I think we're going to like it once we are able to use it.
Again.... if you're thinking about purchasing an RV.... CHECK OUT THE DEALERSHIP FIRST!
They can make or break your enjoyment, and this one definitely broke ours. We are disappointed, disgusted, discouraged and downright angry.

Past Time to Start
I do want ya'll to know that I don't have a clue what I'm doing!
I thought it was difficult to learn to make a website, which I did, thanks to a lot of help from my friends in the SC.
Think I'm going to have to call in the SC troops again in order to learn this also.
Will be back when I do!
In the meantime, you can go see my website if you choose by clicking here.
